Help Understanding your results

Sources

Use the Sources screen to see where the AI assistants got their answers from in your latest scan.

Sources overview

When an engine searches the web to answer a prompt, it cites what it read. This screen collects those citations across your latest scan and groups them by domain.

It’s the most directly actionable screen in the product: these domains are where the answers about your market are actually being formed.

The header shows the date of the latest scan, and how many domains, citations and answers it covers.

How to read the source mix

Source mix shows the share of citations by category — the kind of site each domain is. Click a category in the legend to include or exclude it from the bar, which is the quickest way to see how much of your market’s answer comes from, say, review sites versus media.

Answered without web search tells you how many answers came from the model’s own knowledge with no live sources at all. That number matters: for those answers, nothing you publish this week can change what’s said. What’s already in the model is what’s said.

How to see which domains are cited

The Domains table lists them in order of how often they were cited, with the citation count, the category, and the change against the previous scan.

Your own domains carry an Owned badge.

Filter by category, page through the list, or use Only unrecognized to see only the domains that haven’t been classified.

How to categorise a domain

Unrecognized domains are marked Unrecognized — set a category. Classifying them makes the source mix accurate and improves the recommendations built on it.

Pick the category from the row. If you change your mind, Reset to automatic hands it back to the automatic classification.

This is also where several Context recommendations send you — see Context.

How to use competitor sources

Competitor sources lists domains from the latest scan whose pages mention a tracked competitor. Where the same domain doesn’t mention you, that’s a concrete gap: a place already trusted by the engines in your market where you’re absent.

Those gaps also arrive as Content recommendations with a brief attached — see Content.

How to track a source

Adding a domain or URL to your tracked sources tells the app to watch it in future scans. Pages you publish from a recommendation are added for you when you record the URL.

To see what happened to them afterwards — indexing, citations, traffic — use Trackers.
